and happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
I've been seeing such cute ideas for holiday nail art, it was hard to decide what to try out for this weekend of parties. Also, I'm on a tight budget with the insane amount of shopping I've been doing, so I chose the DIY route. I got this idea from my friend Lindsey @ Queen of Kudos to pick a beautiful solid color for your mani plus a fun sparkly touch on your ring fingers.
For the main color, I chose OPI's Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ... I know the name is weird and kinda creeps me out - painting my nails the same color as a marinade.. but it actually comes out really nice like a deep woodsy red. Then for the accent sparkle color, my new fave from ESSIE's Luxeffects - Shine of the Times. This is the coolest color! You have to see it in person, this pic was the closest I could find to show the multifaceted colors.
I've already worn it with almost every color imaginable because it's like a chameleon, it matches to any base color beautifully. With the deep red underneath, the glitter appears to be gold, reddish, and even green - perfect for the holidays.
Also, I want to try out this lip trend I saw on The Beauty Department to go with my nails! Burgundy Lipstick + Clear Shiny Lip Gloss, so chic!
Alright, back to wrapping!!

I've been wanting leather pants for a while now. Well let me be more specific : faux leather and faux pants. I wanted the look of leather pants so I settled for leather textured leggings! I'm so excited to wear them so I've been looking up different ways to style them:
sorry about the photo overload - i'm obsessed.

Whether you're hosting a holiday bash or if you just want to spice up your christmas cocktails, definitely try out this peppermintini recipe!
1 candy cane, finely crushed
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vanilla vodka
1 fluid ounce peppermint schnapps
1 fluid ounce half-and-half cream
1 small candy cane
Wet the rim of a chilled martini glass with water, and dip into the crushed candy cane. Pour the vodka, schnapps, and half-and-half into a cocktail shaker over ice. Cover, and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into the rimmed martini glass, and garnish with candy cane to serve.
Another fun idea: Make champagne more festive by adding a peppermint candy or candy cane to the bottom of the glass and line the rim with crushed peppermint

This past week my friends and I won tickets to see the filming of Florence + The Machine on MTV UNPLUGGED! It really was a once in a lifetime experience. I saw her in Central Park over the summer, but I was thrilled to hear some of songs from her latest album, Ceremonials. It took place last night at Angel Orensanz, a really cool old church/synagogue - perfect for Florence. She is so amazing live and it was an intimate and different experience than her normal shows. I was sitting behind kanye west! I also won tickets to see her perform on Sunday for the VH1 Divas Live which airs on Monday and the MTV Unplugged will air in late January - keep your eyes peeled for me in the audience!
